Join us for a showcase of an excerpted WONDERLAND by Andrea Miller, performed by GALLIM's Winter Intensive participants!
Following on the heels of GALLIM’s critically acclaimed performances at The Joyce Theater, the 2025 Winter Intensive has offered 50 professional and pre-professional artists a full immersion into a week of company life—learning, researching, and discovering the feverishly heartrending world WONDERLAND.
Originally presented as a half-evening work at The Joyce in 2010, Andrea Miller’s WONDERLAND has been critically acclaimed, expanded, and toured overseas. WONDERLAND’s physical exploration of pack mentality remains as relevant as ever. Imagining the inner life of a herd, sometimes moving in unison and sometimes hosting the uncoordinated drive of self-serving individuals, the work hints at psychological, emotional, and existential tensions of the everyday.
Between poster smiles and white knuckles, Andrea Miller’s WONDERLAND chases after the insidious methods of pack mentality—animal instincts, colorful appetites and social terrors at once.
Opening the program will be a work by GALLIM artist Chloe Crenshaw, ME ALSO ME!, a three-part duet examining internal conflict, performed by GALLIM artists Marc Anthony Gutierrez and Victoria Chasse Dominguez.
