CHELSEA FACTORY
A pop-up space in the heart of Manhattan dedicated to the artists of New York City.
At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, when New York City’s cultural sector faced an existential fallout, Chelsea Factory launched as a pop-up to quickly and meaningfully respond to a wide range of artists’ and audiences’ needs.
In Fall 2021, we opened our doors in the heart of West Chelsea just steps from The High Line, Hudson Yards, and Chelsea galleries. Occupying a historic building from 1914—the former home to NYC’s first taxis, to Annie Leibovitz, to Cedar Lake Dance Company—Chelsea Factory has, for the first time ever, devoted the space to the artists of NYC.
Rooted in flexibility, Chelsea Factory has since been transformed for performances, premieres, rehearsals, fashion shows, music concerts, family events, hip hop battles, and more, serving 5,000+ artists and welcoming over 50,000 audience members to date.
Chelsea Factory is now entering its final chapter and will present its last performances in Spring 2025.
